Bath & Body Works candle removed from stores for resemblance to KKK hood being sold on eBay

Now popping up on eBay: A candle, originally sold by Bath & Body Works, which the retailer recently quit selling over complaints the snowflake design on its label resembled Ku Klux Klan hoods.
The personal care and fragrance retailer recently apologized for producing the Snowed In three-wick candle, which was part of its holiday line of candles.
The move came after online commenters called out the design – meant to be a nod to a folded snowflake cutout – for resembling the white supremacist group's white hoods. Some called it the Klandle and the KKKandle because the pair of cutout holes in the white pointed snowflake tips looked like hoods.

Bath & Body Works apologizes over candle
Bath & Body Works issued an apology, first obtained by TMZ and subsequently by other news outlets including USA TODAY, saying the company was "swiftly working to have this item removed and are evaluating our process going forward."
Despite pulling the Snowed In candle off the market, apparently some online orders were filled because the candle is showing up on eBay and other resale sites, with some entries priced high above the standard cost of $25 or so for the retailer's three-wick candles.
Online listings for Snowed In candle going for hundreds of dollars
One eBay listing, which asks for $375 or best offer, notes that "Both labels are in excellent condition!" Two other listings seek $255 via auction, describing the candle's scent of vanilla and creamy buttermint.
A listing on Facebook Marketplace, offering the candle for $25, notes that "This candle does not have the original 'offensive' label as seen in this ad. They only have the label on the bottom. These will never be sold in stores so get them now! I have many to sell if interested in a bulk purchase."
Social media weighs in on candle controversy
Some were divided on whether the Bath & Body Works candle design resembled KKK hoods or not. But many understood the concerns.
"No not a SINGLE person on they team said it looked “weird” or nothing?😭" posted one commenter on Instagram.
Others gave the candle maker the benefit of the doubt. "I was like, what's wrong with the desi- oh. Oh no. I doubt it was intentional, but this isnt a hill to die on either so it has to go," another Instagram post said.
